This is the first chapter of the novel ‘A Difficult First Album’, which I wrote for my MA in Creative Writing. I entered it into the Liverpool Writing on the Wall Pulp Idol competition and was shortlisted for the final. All finalists had their chapters published. I didn’t win, but it was nice to appear in this publication. The chapter was ultimately scrapped, and rewritten. The novel has yet to be published. I don’t think it ever will, but it was a good learning experience. It was available in print, but copies can be still be found on Amazon as a Kindle edition.
